Takeshi Saji is known for his beautiful rainbow damascus finishes. For the soft steel cladding on these knives, he folds copper into the layers then dips the finished knife in ferric chloride to make it pop. At the core of these knives is VG10. VG10 is a steel that was designed for making knives, and when put in the hands of a reputable knife maker, can yield amazing sharpness. The high carbon content makes it super easy to sharpen, and allows it to hold an edge much longer than its European counterparts.
