Sakai Kikumori Kikuzuki GIN
Sakai Kikumori has a reputation for being one of the higher-end knife companies in Sakai. They work with local craftsman to produce some of the finest culinary blades on the market. Kikumori knives always have the highest levels of fit and finish. This brand new addition to their Kikuzuki range is forged in collaboration with Nakagawa Hamono.
Satoshi Nakagawa worked for many years under the tutelage of master Kenichi Shiraki. After Kenichi Shiraki retired, Nakagowa-san opened his own shop in early 2021 and is well known for being a very versatile blacksmith. Not only can he successfully forge weld various steel types, he is also producing some of the finest honyaki knives on the market.
We are so excited to introduce a stainless version of the Kikuzuki range. The GIN lineup is a 3 layer knife made with a Ginsan core steel. Ginsan is an awesome semi-stainless steel that is easy to sharpen and will outperform European stainless steel by a long shot.
All knives are fixed to a traditional octagonal magnolia wood handle with a buffalo horn collar.
