Kisuke Manaka is a 5th generation blacksmith working out of his small shop in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture. His unique style coupled with the fact he forges all his steel in-house have earned his knives well deserved acclaim.
Manaka san who broke away from his family workshop to work on his own is completely self taught. He forges with traditional Japanese aogami and shirogami steel, but also likes to experiment with lesser known steel such as ATS-34 and VANADIS4. We are anxiously waiting for the arrival of his production line of knives in 2022, so be on the lookout for these offerings from the talented young blacksmith.
