Over the years, we have been receiving lots of requests for burger presses and we are pleased to say that we finally carry the best of the best! We are now stocked up with all three sizes of The Chef's Press by chef Bruce Hill.
Chef Hill created the press in 2004 out of necessity when he was working in a tiny restaurant kitchen. The common presses used at that time were made of cast iron and were too heavy for many foods and trapped steam. In 2017, Chef Hill began to produce his innovative presses commercially, using USA forged steel from Cincinnati, OH. The presses are made in Oakland, CA, USA and each press is personally inspected by Chef Hill before being sent to market. To read more about the manufacturing process, you can find their website here.
What can you use The Chef's Press for?
The possibilities are endless, but here are a few examples:
- Searing meat like burgers, duck, steak
- Paninis
- Grilling veg
- Weighing down gravlax
- Pressing tofu
- Submerging pickles
These presses can be stacked to achieve the weight you need and can also be shingled to cover a larger area. It is recommended to purchase more than one press to give you maximum versatility. This will be your favorite new tool to use for cooking, indoors and out!
