SHUN PREMIER

The Shun Premier line has a "tsuchime" finish which when translated simply means hammered. The finish not only looks really attractive, it aids in breaking up surface tension with the food, which results in less sticking to the blades surface.

At the core of the premier line is VG10. VG10 includes additional carbon to improve durability, more chromium for wear and resistance to rusting. Extra tungsten helps the steel to be very fine-grained for ease of sharpening. It has ore cobalt for less chance of chipping.  Molybdenum improves resistance to corrosion, and blade strength. Vanadium improves impact resistance.

 All knives in the premier line are fitted with a sleek Walnut Pakkawood handle. Pakkawood is a composite that has resin and die injected into it then compressed with a vacuum process that makes it virtually indestructible and waterproof, making it an excellent choice for knife and tool handles.
