Haruyuki Kuma knives are lightweight, mega-sharp, and very unassuming. Hand forged knives just like this will turn anyone into a Japanese knife fanatic. Built with a high-speed tool steel, Haruyuki kuma are capable of extremely sharp edges.
SRS-15 is a powder tool steel that was designed for precision tools like drill bits. PM steel has undergone quite a lot of refinement over the last few generations, resulting in clean steel with very even particle and grain structure. It has just enough chromium to make it stainless; tungsten and vanadium for strength and durability, and molybdenum for wear resistance.
All the knives in the kuma line up are fitted with a sleek oval cherry wood handle and red pakka collar, for an overall light feeling that does not fatigue the hand and arm.
